Projects/Technical Clerical Assistant
An opportunity has arisen for a clerical assistant to work with the projects and technical departments at the Derbyshire based office.
The role will primarily be to support the projects and technical staff in general duties. Duties will include document control, arranging meetings, minute taking, organising office filing systems, also general office tasks such as filing, scanning, photocopying, etc.
The successful candidate will be of a pro-active nature and be capable of working with minimal supervision; they will also possess good communication skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office and Outlook is expected, knowledge of Microsoft Project would be advantageous. A flexible attitude is essential.
The position will initially be offered on a part-time basis, and will be nominally 20 hours per week. It is expected that this position will progress into a full-time role; the necessity for this will be reviewed at set intervals. MMD offer a very competitive salary/package to the right candidate, dependent upon their background and experience. This position will report directly to the MD Group Head of Engineering.

Project Manager - Somercotes, Derbyshire
An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Project Manager with industry experience to work in the projects department at the Derbyshire based head office.
The Project Managers role is primarily to provide support to the MMD sales companies and to ensure that all aspects of projects are executed as per contractual requirements to their conclusion. This includes being technically correct and commercially viable.
As a key member of staff you will be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The position will include taking responsibility for a broad range of minor and major projects, the value of which can be over £10 million. Tasks involved will include initial project estimation, scheduling, document submission, project design and specification control through to final contract negotiation and general project management.
Reporting directly to the Projects Director, the position will include interacting with the Design, Manufacturing, Sales, and Technical departments within the MMD group, as well as direct liaison with customers and sub-contractors.
The successful candidate will have relevant engineering qualifications and approximately 4 years + experience in this field. AutoCAD and Microsoft office skills are required, and experience in 3D SolidWorks is advantageous. A flexible attitude and a willingness to travel internationally if required are essential.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Electrical Engineer (Industrial/Mining)
MMD supply heavy duty Mining Equipment to the global Mines and Quarries market.
The Company is synonymous with its range of Mineral Sizing equipment. The group has its design offices in Derbyshire, but has satellite offices worldwide. We seek to employ an experienced Electrical Engineer to work primarily in our design offices, but the requirement to spend time abroad is integral to the position.
The primary role will include;
• Design of electrical and automated systems for heavy mobile mining machinery.
• Specification of process Control requirements and components.
• Product selection for systems equipment.
• Generation of electrical specifications.
• Supervision of installation and commissioning of equipment.
• Production of Engineering Drawings including P & ID’s, Logic flow, Single Line, etc.
• Technical Support to our satellite network, and other departments within the group.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years experience in a senior role involving similar expertise to our requirements. A particular knowledge and expertise in motors and their control systems is advantageous, as is the knowledge of ‘state of the art’ technologies in this field. MMD also have a particular interest in energy efficiency in order to promote the development of our ‘Green Mining’ technology.
The position is permanent, and will be nominally 40 hours per week. MMD undertake to offer a very competitive salary/package to the right candidate, dependent upon their background and experience. The person will report to the Technical Director.

Experienced Mechanical Engineer
To work with our team in the technical headquarters for the MMD Group on design and development of mining machinery. An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious experienced engineer with approximately 4 years + experience in this field with appropriate Mechanical Engineering qualifications. Experience in CAD and SolidWorks is advantageous. A flexible attitude and a willingness to travel internationally if required is essential.
Salary commensurate with experience. Circa £37,500 - £40,000.
