Worlds Largest Capacity Underground Sizer Installed

A large Virginia coal mine decided to cure their underground belt transport problems with the installation of an MMD 750 series sizer.
The recent installation of the MMD sizer to reduce run of mine coal to a less than 225mm (9") product, has successfully eliminated previous system problems caused by uneven loading, and large lumps on the discharge belt conveyor.
Currently the operation runs at over 4000 tonnes per hour with peaks of upto 5000 tonnes per hour. Whilst sizers of a similar specification have been installed in several high capacity 'above ground' coal applications worldwide, this is the largest capacity underground coal Sizer fitted to date. This was only made possible due to the compact dimensions and high throughput of the MMD Sizer.
