Gypsum Mine Installs Complete Sizing Solution
11th May 2003
A new semi-mobile station and secondary sizer has been installed at a Gypsum mine in Iowa, U.S.A.
The completed semi-mobile station comprises of two major components, an MMD D4 apron plate feeder and an MMD 750 series 3 tooth primary sizer. The station incorporates an “in-ground” designed hopper, which is encased on 3 sides by a concrete wall to hold and contain feed material.

In this operation, run of mine Gypsum is dumped by haulage trucks directly into the in-ground hopper at a rate of 600TPH. The sizing station processes the material, reducing it to a less than 12” (300mm) product, which is subsequently carried to the stockpile via the overland conveyor.
Also at the mine an MMD secondary sizer operating at 300TPH has also been installed to reduce the stockpiled material to a less than 2” (50mm) product.
