Secondary MMD Sizer Upgrade Improves Production by 20%
19th August 2004
A North American lignite operation has completed trials with a secondary adjustable centres upgrade to their existing 625 series secondary Sizer.
Fully operational since 1996, the original secondary Sizer was recently modified by MMD to increase production through the plant, whilst still retaining product size control. This secondary Sizer accepts material upto 250mm from the MMD primary Sizer, and discharges a 70mm nominal product onto a discharge conveyor belt.
Results have since shown a 20% increase in throughput, from 1500TPH to 1800TPH and improved size control, with less fines and less oversize being produced. Over the next few years we also expect to see similar improvements in wear costs and power consumption.
