The same cement quarry featured in news article, "Plant Modernisation Leads to New MMD Plate Feeder Order" has now decided to replace the 23year old MMD 750 series sizer to a current sizer design.
100mm Nominal Product on Discharge Conveyor |
The original 750 Series sizer, installed in 1984, was one of the first MMD machines installed in a cement plant. Now after many years of successful operation, the UK cement plant has decided to replace the sizer to an improved design, whilst using as many of the original parts as possible, including the gearbox, which has been working tirelessly for over 10years and only requires slight refurbishment. The new sizer will carry on the good work of the original machine, reducing limestone from 300mm down to 100mm nominal product but in addition will also provide the capability to increase the throughput up to 1200TPH, a 20% increase on the previous installation.
The upgrade and refurbishment of the machine is due to be installed with the new MMD heavy duty apron plate feeder in January 2008.
