IT Support Technician
As an IT Support Technician at MMD, you will play a vital role supporting the day-to-day operation, security and development of our IT environment. Working alongside the IT Manager, you will assist with technical support, infrastructure administration, user management, and cyber security activities that help keep our business running effectively and securely.
This role offers far more than traditional IT support. You will gain hands-on experience across a variety of technologies including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking, endpoint management, cyber security monitoring, vulnerability management and information security best practices.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Set up, configure, maintain and troubleshoot computer systems, software applications, mobile devices, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
- Assist with network support and troubleshooting, including LAN, Wi-Fi, switching and connectivity issues.
- Assist with user account administration, permissions and access management within Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring the timely provisioning and removal of accounts, devices, and system access.
- Monitor Microsoft Defender and other security tools, investigating alerts and escalating potential threats where required.
- Assist with vulnerability management activities, software updates and remediation of identified risks.
- Support cyber security awareness initiatives and promote good security practices across the business.
- Help maintain asset inventories and ensure systems remain compliant with company standards and security requirements.
- Create and maintain IT documentation, processes, procedures and user guides.
- Help to identify and implement opportunities to improve IT infrastructure.
- Liaise with third-party IT providers and software vendors when necessary.

- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Experience with networking, switches, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Previous experience in an IT support, service desk or technical support environment.
Desirable Skills (Not Essential):
- Technical certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
- Knowledge of DHCP, DNS and networking fundamentals.
- Experience using Microsoft Defender or other security monitoring tools.
- Understanding of endpoint management and Microsoft Intune.
- Familiarity with patch management and system maintenance processes.
- Awareness of cyber security principles, Cyber Essentials, or similar frameworks.
