About the Role
We are looking for an AI Systems Architect to join MMD GPHC at our stunning coastal headquarters in Laxey. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement AI and automation solutions that improve business processes, strengthen our existing systems, and help colleagues work more effectively.
Working closely with a multitude of teams across the business, you will identify opportunities, design practical solutions, and lead their implementation and provide training. A key focus will be integrating AI tools with our ERP system to improve workflows, information access, and staff productivity.
You will also establish the guardrails needed for responsible AI use and provide training and support to help colleagues adopt these technologies confidently.
The role offers significant scope for professional growth, with the opportunity to extend successful solutions throughout MMD’s global company network and take on increasing responsibility.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing and implementing an AI and automation roadmap aligned with business needs.
- Reviewing existing processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
- Designing and integrating AI tools with our ERP system and other business applications.
- Automating repetitive tasks and improving access to business information.
- Managing projects from initial concept through testing, implementation, and ongoing improvement.
- Establishing clear policies and guardrails covering data security, appropriate use, reliability, and human oversight.
- Providing practical training, guidance, and support to colleagues.
- Evaluating new technologies and suppliers to identify suitable solutions.
- Measuring the impact of improvements and sharing successful approaches across our global network.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience designing and implementing AI, automation, or integrated business systems.
- Understands ERP systems, business processes, and how to connect applications and data.
- Combines technical ability with a practical approach to solving business problems.
- Can turn ideas into reliable solutions that are straightforward for colleagues to use.
- Understands the importance of security, governance, and responsible AI use.
- Communicates clearly and can explain technical concepts to people with different levels of experience.
- Is proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of projects.
- Enjoys working collaboratively and helping others develop their skills.
- Experience within engineering, manufacturing, or an international business would be advantageous.
