Atlas Transporter

The biggest challenges include maintaining production during the move, managing uneven or unstable ground conditions, coordinating multiple work crews, and safely handling heavy, high-value loads — all while minimising disruption to the wider operation. Careful planning and purpose-built transport equipment help manage these risks.

Yes. MMD's Atlas Transporter range covers carrying capacities from 200 to 750 tonnes, and a single unit serves multiple structures across a site. Support frames or attachment systems can be customised for specific equipment while maintaining safe load distribution.

Yes. MMD's Atlas Transporter is designed to operate on challenging mine surfaces and gradients of up to 10%, using sensors to monitor and maintain the payload's centre of gravity automatically as it travels. Operators still assess the travel path before each relocation to confirm it meets site-specific safety requirements.

A transporter is the better option when equipment needs to move regularly, or when minimising production downtime is a priority. Moving a complete module in one piece is faster than dismantling, transporting and reassembling it — particularly for the heavy semi-mobile structures used in large open-pit operations.
