Projects Director
The MMD Group of Companies is a world leading manufacturer of Mineral Sizing and mining equipment, supplying blue chip companies around the world. Our Centre of Excellence (CoE) is a strategic hub in the Isle of Man that brings together expertise, innovation, and operational focus to address critical challenges and opportunities within the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate the CoE’s vision and mission, aligning with MMD’s corporate objectives.
- Drive the identification, evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies relevant to mining machinery development.
- Enhance the technical skills and knowledge of internal teams to support current and future projects.
- Establish and standardise processes, methodologies and quality assurance frameworks to optimise efficiency and consistency.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of subject matter experts, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Candidate Requirements:
- Leadership experience in managing machinery development, heavy equipment manufacturing or related sectors.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the mining industry.
- Advanced degree in engineering, mining, mechanical systems, business administration or equivalent experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) qualified.
- Expertise in Project Management in heavy engineering.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Exceptional skills in simulation software, specifically Rockwell Arena related to mining activities.
- Strong understanding of mining machinery technologies, industry challenges and
sustainability practices. - Proficiency in data analysis, project management and digital tools relevant to
operational excellence. - Necessity to travel internationally at short notice.
